Voicing its resentment at the killing of 10 school children in Dhemaji, the All Assam Students Union has called for a state-wide bandh on August 18.

The state government has blamed the United Liberation Front of Asom for the blast.
"We want to send out a strong warning that crime against the student community will not be tolerated and [we] hold the government entirely responsible for the incident," Bhattacharya said.
On August 19, students will be asked to wear black clothes and badges and carry black flags to press for Gogoi's
resignation and protest against the "henious crime committed by the insurgents," he said.
