The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday claimed that former chief minister and Bahujan Samaj Party leader, Mayawati, acquired as many as 131 properties in the state.
Addressing reporters in Lucknow, Chief Secretary A P Singh said: "The former chief minister is stated to have acquired properties in Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr and Bijnore."

The revelations followed a Supreme Court order in the morning asking the Central Bureau of Investigation to file FIRs against Mayawati, her one-time cabinet colleague Nasimuddin Siddiqui and six IAS officers for alleged irregularities and malpractices in the Rs 175-crore Taj Heritage Corridor case.
"While we received photocopies of documents relating to 100 of these properties, the rest were verified from official records," the chief secretary said.
Asked what action would follow against the bureaucrats named by the Supreme Court in the Taj corridor case, Singh said: "Well, the court has given us four days to proceed. We would be in a position to say anything only after a detailed study of the court order."
To a pointed query, he said: "If necessary, the government may suspend these officers."
Apart from instituting criminal cases against them, the court has told the state government to take departmental action against former UP chief secretary D S Bagga, former principal secretary to chief minister P L Punia, two former state environment secretaries R K Sharma and V K Gupta, Union environment secretary K C Misra and the managing director of the National Projects Construction Corporation S C Bali.
