Paresh Baruah, chief of the outlawed banned United Liberation Front of Assam, reportedly survived an attempt on his life in Bangladesh last week, when some unidentified persons fired at him.

Sources quoting reports reaching from Bangladesh said three men, believed to be from a rival group, carried out the attack at his residence at Dhan Mandi in Dhaka last week.
