PM on holiday after birthday

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee [ Images ] will leave for Rajasthan [ Images ] on a four-day holiday after celebrating his birthday. He turns 79 on December 25.

On Tuesday, Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] MPs conveyed their best wishes to him at the parliamentary party meeting in Delhi [ Images ], on the concluding day of the winter session of Parliament. [Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned sine die after a 22-day long session]

Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani [ Images ] garlanded him and offered sweets to Vajpayee who received a standing ovation from those present.

The prime minister will be leaving for Lucknow [ Images ] on Wednesday morning on a day's visit. He will leave for Rajasthan after spending his birthday in Delhi.
