Rajakumar arrives in Bangalore

M D Riti in Bangalore

The wait was finally over as Dr Rajkumar came out of the helicopter at 12.25 pm on Thursday at Jakkur airport.

Interestingly, Rajakumar chopper first landed at HAL airport and not at Jakkur airport as scheduled because the government wanted to avoid chaos at the airport.

However, the family members of Rajakumar, who had gathered at the airport, got agitated and told state officials that he should be brought to Jakkur airport. The officials relented and the chopper landed at Jakkur airport.

People began shouting slogans as soon as he landed. Rajakumar could only wave his hand to the crowd and rushed to the Karnataka Vidhan Soudha, where he is going to address a small function and is likely to meet the press.

"We are very thrilled to see him," said Nishkala Shivraj, the actor's grand-daughter.

"He looks older and unhealthy," commented another fan who had come to see Rajakumar.
