Gajanur rejoices at Rajakumar's release

Sadananda R in Gajanur

After a long wait, faces at Gajanur were beaming. Crackers were burst and special pujas were offered to local deities, particularly to Lord Beerappa, Rajakumar's favorite deity.

Exactly after 108 days, Rajakumar's ancestral house at Gajanur was a hive of activity. People from nearby villages thronged the house as rumours spread that Rajakumar would be coming to Gajanur enroute to Bangalore.

Gopal, Rajakumar's sister's son, exclaimed, "God is with us. A long prayer has been answered. I am happy and the people of Karnataka are happy. It's a day to celebrate." His wife was busy offering special puja to the family deity.

The Superintendent of Police, Chamarajanagar, visited Rajakumar's house at Gajanur and waited for about three hours for news of the actor. Several police personnel were also posted at the farmhouse.

Several journalists also descended on Gajanur.
