S M Krishna arrives in Madras for crucial talks

E-Mail this report to a friend

Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna flew into Madras this morning for a crucial round of talks with his Tamil Nadu counterpart M Karunanidhi. Krishna was accompanied by Home Minister Mallikarjun Kharge. The CMs are scheduled to discuss sandalwood smuggler Veerappan's demands in exchange for releasing Kannada superstar Dr Rajakumar.

The thespian was abducted by Veerappan on July 30.

The meeting was necessitated after R R Gopal, editor of Nakkeeran, brought with him audio cassettes from Veerappan in which the brigand has reiterated his earlier set of demands to release Rajakumar.
