Advani promises separate state of Vananachal

Bharatiya Janata Party supremo L K Advani has promised that his party, if voted to power at the Centre, would initiate legislative measures to constitute the separate state of Vananchal, comprising 18 districts of south Bihar.

Addressing the media before embarking on the third leg of his electioneering in Bihar, Advani said the party was committed to the formation of the separate state.

"A separate state of Vananchal alone can solve the problems of the backward region," he said.
