CRICKET Wisden changes England skipper Michael Vaughan became the first player to have his photograph adorn the cover of Wisden Cricketers Almanack. In its 140-year history, the yellow-jacketed book - a must have for cricket fans the world over -- has resisted having a photograph on its cover. Even Don Bradman never featured on it. It was the first major change to the cover since 1938 when Wisden brought in the celebrated woodcut by Eric Ravilious showing two Victorian gentlemen with top hats playing cricket. The decision to use a photograph was made by Tim de Lisle, editor of the cricket almanac's 2003 edition. Vaughan was picked because he had made the year his own with seven Test centuries, each scored in style.
