Murli's triple

Sri Lankan off-spinner Muthiah Muralitharan joined the elite club of bowlers who have claimed 300 or more wickets in one-day internationals on January 15. Murli achieved the feat against England in the eighth match of the VB series in Australia to join Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis and Anil Kumble.

Murali's unique bowling action has invited its fair share of controversy. With becoming the quickest and youngest bowler to take 400 Test wickets he is well on course to pick 1,000 international wickets. On an average, the Tamilian has scalped 5 wickets per Test over the last 10 years and is the most immediate threat to Courtney Walsh's record of 519 Test wickets.
